Mind-boggling maths is at the heart of director Elena Petitti di Roreto and Anonymous Content’s latest campaign for Aberlour — whether that concerns the number of cells in a living organism or the limitless possibilities in a chess game. Though the Scotch whisky distillery prides itself on just three essential elements, the spirit’s unique flavour, they say, is so complex that only a billion neurons can appreciate it.
Goldstein were thrilled to be involved in this project, composing a score that utilises delay effects, rhythmic flare and a blend of unique instruments to communicate sophistication and complexity. Opening with a simple synth melody, the composition evolves in phases as different visual scenes unfold — with jazzy drum fills and strings leading towards a bright and intense climax.
