180 LA's Musical Chrismas for Boost

Logan & Sons director Eric Anderson shoots 31 carols

The Christmas Carols are playing and the menorahs are on display, but what are your plans are for “Take it in the Ear Day?” In the latest campaign for Boost Mobile, 180LA discovered holidays for every day in December, from the oft-ignored Chocolate Covered Anything Day or Festival for the Souls of Dead Whales Day to your standard Christmas and Hanukkah, and made customized festive carol e-cards for everyone, all using different genres of music.

The digital campaign is housed on a microsite http://www.boostcarolcards.com/ created by 180LA, which holds a calendar that allows viewers to click on the dates, watch a music video with the carol of their holiday, and then send the carol card to their friends and family via Facebook.

The campaign is intuitive for Boost Mobile, a company whose ever-growing wireless capabilities do not require the traditional limitations of long-term contracts but still provide nationwide service and a diverse selection of quality handsets with affordable payment options.  “Boost has always given a voice to the underdog,” 180LA Creative Director Dave Horton said. “So for the holidays we aren’t just celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah, we’re going to celebrate them all. We wrote 31 carols     for the 31 holidays in December, each using a different genre of music.”

The 180LA creative team wrote all of the lyrics for the 31 varied genres and worked with Elias to bring the music to life. Logan & Sons director Eric Anderson shot all of the month's worth of videos over one day, and the microsite was born two weeks later.
