Radio Advertising Bureau on spots that could transition from screen to radio

The best ads on TV are not always about visuals. The script, audio treatment, performance and sound effects can be just as important. And these are the very things that make great radio ads too. Often I’m watching TV and think how well an ad would work on radio, all for a fraction of the cost. Here are a handful of some brilliant TV creative that would sound awesome on air too.

Findaproperty.com
One of those you can listen to over and over again and still find funny.

Weetabix Drink
Radio and breakfast go together like hand in glove. Oven-glove if you’re are planning on an omelette, as the narrator suggests. Lovely writing too. *Good boy.

Booking.com
Even when he isn't Brian Butterfield, Peter Serafinowicz is the consummate salesman. Recreational sand anyone?

Anchor
Great lyrical scripting here. Butter would melt.

Durex
(Would need a bit of voiceover but still…) Ingenious on TV, this is a cheeky audio metaphor that would sound great on Kiss or Capital.

Cravendale
Another ad that would be perfect for breakfast. If you don't have time to sit and watch the cats doing their thing with their opposable thumbs, the description of them is just as unsettling

Lurpak
Melt in the mouth voiceover from Garrison Keillor.

Birdseye
The realism would have great stand out on radio. Bad jokes too. Love it.

McCains
John Cooper-Clark's chippy ditty doesn’t need the pictures. Pure poetry.

Yeo Valley
Radio ad takeover anyone? 'Yo' indeed, (as my mum would never say...)
