Salary range for this position: $100-150k
What you’ll do
As a Design Lead, you will bring extensive experience leading design engagements and mentoring and teaching design teams. Your expertise spans across branding, visual design, user experience, UI patterns, typography, grids, and design systems. You have an exceptional portfolio of work for notable brands, demonstrating mastery of skill and craft.
You can set a vision and drive concepting and ideation in pursuit of innovative approaches and solutions. You can lead client workshops, presentations, pitches and reviews, as well as execute interface design for websites and apps for all project types.
You are a strong, confident communicator who can split their time between leading projects (80% of your time) and leading the team (20%). You are excited to think about processes and design upskilling and are able to give feedback that makes the team better. You also cultivate creative inspiration across the design team.
You also have or can demonstrate:
10+ years experience leading design engagements
2+ years experience leading, mentoring, and teaching design teams
Can execute 0 to 60 on a range of digital design tasks - from branding & identity, to UI application, to UX and digital product design… you may have one area where you go “deep”, but you are comfortable executing and/or leading in all these lanes
Ability to solve difficult design problems and create frameworks from these design solutions
Provide feedback to strategic, branding, and product brainstorming sessions
Oversee every aspect of a project and help drive cross-functional meetings
Natural ability to communicate, present, and gain buy-in internally and with clients
Able to build trust through exceptional management skills, guiding internal and external communications with executive-level stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal fluency in English
