Little Black Book is looking for a journalist to head up news coverage of advertising and creativity in the UK.
The role will revolve around finding and responding quickly to stories to boost traffic from the UK. You will be working with the ad industry to discover and help tell the most important stories about the business of creativity, hunting down information on changes in companies, their accounts and senior leadership, and working with LBB member companies to break news stories together with comms leaders.
For anyone looking for a next step in their journalism career, this is a great chance to combine arts writing and business writing and to grow a niche and personal platform. The UK is a vast advertising market and although it is LBB’s birthplace, there is still large scope for growth and development at Little Black Book writing about it. This could be ideal for someone working in a large news organisation who is looking to gain more agency, insight and input into the business that they're working for.
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in journalism, a flair for writing, a high degree of personal organisation and, above all, a sense of newsworthiness. It’s a fast-moving job with daily deadlines and involves working as part of a tightly knit team, so we’re looking for someone who will be able to work quickly and accurately. The role will also require occasional after work networking, as building industry relationships will be a crucial part of success.
