ROLE: Designer
LOCATION: Cardiff
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:
OLIVER is looking to recruit a Senior Integrated Designer to work on-site with one of our flagship clients based in Cardiff.
The successful candidate will work directly with the client team in their offices to create a range of solutions across print, digital and point of sale. They’ll be as happy creating presentations in Powerpoint as developing infographics, animating and making long copy docs feel more accessible. The scope is largely B2B and B2B2C rather than retail – interpreting and flexing the brand personality and tone for a business audience will be key.
The right candidate will be a highly collaborative self-starter who can work well in a team. They’ll have great communication skills and the ability to interrogate a brief to add value and establish full clarity. It goes without saying that they’ll have a passion for all things creative, a love for layout, typography and comms design …. and a portfolio to match.
WHAT YOU WILL YOU BE DOING:
Work collaboratively with the client team to develop and execute ideas and directly with the sales teams to co-create point of sale collateral and other assets.
Develop an expert understanding of the brand guidelines and lead the team to ensure all work adheres to brand guidelines.
Produce creative and original concepts, supported by a clear design rationale.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and present to senior stakeholders.
Create PPT, infographics, printed leave behinds and point of sale work.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:
Be confident to work collaboratively and directly with clients, supporting them and working to tight deadlines with enough flexibility to ensure work is completed on time.
Be able to quickly understand a brief and ask the right questions to achieve the objective and get appropriate clarity.
Be up to date with the latest design trends and has a thirst for knowledge that feeds into producing exciting work and pushing the creative bar.
Have a superb eye for and attention to detail.
Able to comfortably work as part of a team or autonomously, as required.
Have great communication skills, a courteous and professional manner and a creative approach to problem solving
Be able to prioritise and manage workload with good time-keeping, punctuality and reliability
Have excellent all-round pure graphic design skills. Illustration, photography and, ideally, video and animation skills
Have a strong portfolio, demonstrating a flair for layout, composition and typography.
Have a mastery and appreciation of PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Essential skills
Graphic Design degree or similar - Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro).
Presentation Software - Microsoft PowerPoint
