The Purpose:

No need for the "fear of missing out" is a digital element of an information campaign organized by the Chicago Department of Public Health CDPH addressed at Chicagoans who are 5 and older in order to encourage them to get their COVID-19 booster dose(s).

This project was commissioned by Ogilvy Chicago on behalf of CDPH and the purpose was to create an animated clip that CDPH could share on their social and primarily YouTube channel.

The Illustration and Animation:

The aim of this campaign was to create a fresh approach to informing people about Covid-19 vaccinations. We did that by using a likeable character that was set in Chicago.

Local artist Blake Jones was commissioned to work on the out-of-home and other aspects of the campaign so we wanted to keep the collaboration going on this part of the campaign. Blake is a well-known mural artist in Chicago and is well recognizable to any local. His style which depicts characters with graphic line work and bright colors illustrate our playful narrative.

The simple idea was to have the main character wander by major Chicago landmarks and sing about his woes. The character hit the soft spot with our audience and increased boosters around the city.
