Share the Magic - a Christmas story of a young Irish girl called Aoife, who wakes up one morning to a strange noise. Accompanied by her parents, she hurries outside to find an injured wild deer lying in their back garden. For Aoife, though, this is no ordinary deer - she quickly makes it her mission to help her new friend get back on his feet.

The Score:
I began by composing the Reindeer's Theme - a piano melody that drifts in as Aoife awakes (0:00-0:08). I wanted to add colour without over-animating the soundtrack, so I arranged the theme on strings slightly differently each time It presented itself. I tried to make the score aware of the story without overtaking it, saving the bombastic arrangement for the final reprise. In the end, the story is less about Christmas and more about their friendship, so it was essential to support that story.
