In the US, only 24 out of 50 states mandate teen sex education. For all teens, but especially Black, LatinX, and LGBTQ+ teens in conservative communities, it’s hard to get accurate, nonjudgmental answers.
To combat this knowledge gap, we worked with Planned Parenthood to promote their anonymous sex ed chatbot, Roo.
Roo High School is a YouTube series co-created with diverse cast of real teens and influencers, featuring burning sex ed questions and answers about topics like masturbation, gender identity, consent, and puberty.
Since launch, Roo has answered almost a million teen questions, three-quarters of them from people of color.
