This past Olympic season, Toyota launched an ambitious and poetic spot celebrating the tenacity of the human spirit, featuring U.S. figure skater, Ashley Wagner. Part of the brand's wider 'Start Your Impossible' campaign which launched earlier this year, 'Thin Ice' deals with how Wagner has overcome injuries in the past to become an Olympic medallist.
Directed by Tarsem, the spot was creatively devised by Saatchi & Saatchi LA and produced by Radical Media. 'Thin Ice' features visual effects by award-winning studio, The Embassy. The incredible settings were created entirely in post-production with the aid of texture capture in New Zealand.
