On February 1, 2017, Dailey returned to its roots as one of LA’s first and best-known independent agencies – a story that began nearly fifty years ago on July 1, 1968, when Peter Dailey first opened our doors.
Among his first hires were Cliff Einstein and Phil Joanou, who took over leadership of the agency when Peter became the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland in 1982. Under their guidance, Dailey grew quickly and in 1983 was purchased by Interpublic. But the spirit that has always been part of our DNA soon became evident to our new owners. They kept trying to rebrand us. Phil and Cliff kept refusing to change our name.
Now we’ve become a truly independent agency once again. As the technology of communications changes, we continue to redefine ourselves with services that fulfill our clients’ changing needs. And we continue to build the long-term relationships we’re known for, based on deep knowledge of our clients’ businesses and complete transparency.
