Overview of role

A Senior Post Producer should be organised, calm, motivated and used to working on more than one project at a time. Strong communication and team playing skills are a must with experience budgeting, organising and running high-end advertising VFX projects. A thorough level of knowledge on the entire post-production process and a keen eye for detail is essential. Must have experience working with clients including production company and agency producers, account teams, directors and agency creatives from initial meetings through to final delivery. Will be required to estimate, track and report on times and resources used. Previous experience working in production or an adverting agency is advantageous.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 4 to 5 years working in a similar role within a commercials post production company.
  • Managing projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Drafting quotes, budgets and schedules for short form VFX projects.
  • Building and organising teams of VFX artists and editors.
  • Working closely with and maintaining client relationships.
  • Answering client technical queries / liaising with operators or technical staff to obtain and provide requested information.
  • Liaising with artists, operators and support staff in offline, online, audio, grading, CGI, MCR and studio sessions.
  • Working with bookings team to allocate resources including any freelance and third-party resource that may be required.
  • Coordinating external services on projects.
  • Keeping a track of hours as projects progress, reconciling and invoicing jobs on completion.
  • Keeping abreast of new techniques and equipment available on-site and managing facility resources to ensure use is to the fullest.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Knowledge of Scheduall or similar booking system.

People

  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable leading a team of VFX artists, managing projects from concept through to delivery
  • Good listener and leader who is comfortable instructing and delegating to junior members of the team
  • Ensure clear lines of communication between team members, ensuring all deadlines are met on time

Finance

  • Business acumen and an ability to balance financial responsibilities and negotiations
  • Negotiating rates and discounts on a client or project basis
  • Providing Head of Production with accurate figures for reporting purposes.
