​Irish football fans are considered some of the most passionate supporters in the world. So when we didn’t qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Irish fans were left heartbroken. That’s when Virgin Media, Ireland’s most reliable broadband network, spotted an opportunity to create an alternative event. During the World Cup, we created our own FIFA tournament, 5000 miles from Qatar, featuring another group of Irish players - Gamers. Ireland’s number 1 and 2 ranked FIFA players and two Irish football legends came together for a series of back to back games in one of Ireland’s most historic football stadiums. The games were streamed live on multiple platforms.​
