Vendors at Zurich’s Antiquarian Book Fair sell rare and valuable books and prints every year. But the fair’s audience has gradually grown older – and smaller. Meanwhile, young people’s interest in the fair remains almost non-existent.
The challenge was as terrifying as it was simple: Get young people excited enough about old books and prints to visit the antiquarian fair.
The beauty of antique books and prints is timeless – but we needed to bring in a younger audience. To do that, we created eight unique copperplate engravings based on an iconic digital medium: GIFs. The engravings were used to create a collection of forty-eight unique prints that were given away on social media and exhibited at the fair, bringing a young audience to an ageing fair.
