JAMM collaborated closely with director Tobias Granström of RSA Films. Recreating King Kong and Transformer sequences were among the top highlights for the CG team, closely followed up by Harry Potter’s famous floating candles and the Shrink Ray gun from the Minion films. Bringing their attention to detail and intense work ethic to the project, the compositors seamlessly integrated CG into live action and further enhanced the in-camera elements with additional atmosphere and texture. Asher Edwards, Executive Producer of JAMM, said the biggest challenge of the project was "matching film assets on a commercial deadline. We had a short timeline to create something that looks straight out of a blockbuster film."
VFX Supervisor Andy Boyd and Animation Supervisor Steward Burris led the JAMM team to render and animate King Kong in about three weeks. Boyd was thrilled at the opportunity, saying, "We do CG creature/character work all the time, but it’s usually self-contained. We relished the challenge of achieving a feature film standard in only a couple of weeks. When watching effects-heavy films you’re always thinking, ‘if I had a chance to do it, how would I?’ And then we got to!"
The original "Grow Bolder" spot premiered during the Winter Olympics on NBC, but the ad is only the first glimpse at D&G’s campaign introducing new initiatives and creative for Universal Parks & Resorts across platforms, all of which will amplify the brand’s "Grow Bolder" message to kids and families around the world.
