On February 24th Russia invaded Ukraine. Many brands condemned this act of aggression and left the Russian market, Airbnb and Booking among them. Though Russians stayed with the desire to travel abroad.
We searched for a way to show Russian citizens the level of devastation caused to Ukrainian cities by Russian invasion.
For Russians googling "places to travel" we launched an Airbnb, but the "Russian world" edition. Our commercials and banners navigated Russians to our renting marketplace with an option to choose an apartment with a “view” on a destroyed city center or a Russian missile sticking out of the ground. When "Booking" an apartment, they got an offer to subscribe to a channel with the truth about the WAR in Ukraine.
As results, we have:
