The hospitality industry has seen a huge knock-on effect since Covid with staff shortages reaching an all-time high. Stena Line needed to fill a total of 80 onboard service staff and chef positions across their Irish fleet fast!
Whilst most hospitality providers have similar job specifications, Stena Line offers staff several unique benefits, including week-on-week-off shift patterns, free accommodation and food & gym access onboard. We needed to reach prospective employees and make them think differently about a career with Stena Line.
To attract interest and applications the ‘A life less ordinary’ campaign pulls back the curtain of the lives of Stena Line employees on-board and off-board – including their free time, afforded by unique benefits that a career with Stena Line offers.
This UK & Ireland wide campaign was launched on Stena Line’s recruitment website with 2 core films and distributed across digital, social & press outlets.
THE RESULT
The campaign made a significant contribution to the generation of a result less ordinary with 1,700 applications for 80 roles, leading Stephen Bryden, Stena Line’s Head of Onboard Sales and Services to say he was “astonished” by the public’s response, and “We have never received so many applications.”
