Design Lab: The Fanchise Model was a campaign that let gamers take ownership of
their unique design. And if others bought it, you earned a cut of the profits.
To help people sell even more, Xbox created a series of posters that brought to
life the inspiration behind their designs, ranging from failed Thanksgiving
lunches to legendary race cars. The 3D illustrations deconstruct the
inspiration into its individual parts, visually telling a quirky story. These
customized controllers are a premium product, so the art direction draws inspiration
from how fashion brands market handbags and luxury accessories.
