​Coffee & TV led the full production from direction & shoot through to character design, visual effects and colour. The character design was led by Josh George, working closely with TMW’s motion department 'Move Studio' to find the right balance of cuteness, reality and brand identity. This established Ossi and Pod's world as they set off on an exploration of life above sea. The process was non-traditional and holistic, using a mix of live action and CG environments that were boarded out to create a bespoke solution for each individual shot, filming 3D printed crabs on the day. The project was directed by Martin Allan, who was able to use his hands-on experience of live action filming and complex VFX to find advantageous creative solutions to budget challenges.
