Churchie, the nation's favourite bulldog is back and this time he is feeling chill! Working with Engine on this campaign for Churchill Insurance, we were tasked to find a cool, modern track for the film, something you could nod your head to, in characteristic Churchill style.
We sourced 'Morals' by Africa Express feat. Moonchild Sanelly, Mahotella Queens, Muzi, and Mr Jukes to set a laid back tone, while Churchie glides effortlessly down a slide at a funfair.
Licensing this track was a real labour of love for our Head of Production, Jonathan Watts, who spotted echoes of the old baritone voice of Churchill in the track's vocal sample from Malkerns Male-Voice Choir, giving an auditory sense of continuum for those familiar with the iconic brand and Churchie’s old vocalised ‘oh yes’ slogan from years of previous campaigns. As one Youtube commentator wrote, 'I thought it was the Churchill dog singing for real lol'. For those that don't know, Africa Express is a non-profit facilitating cross-cultural collaborations between artists in African, Middle Eastern, and Western countries. They do really vital work and it's great to know a whole load of people have been put onto their music through this spot.
