BACKGROUND:
In their ongoing battle with Vodafone, Qatari telco market leader Ooredoo, scored a coup. They secured a deal with Netflix, which meant high spending customers could get Netflix for free.
THE INSIGHT:
While people love getting stuff for free, they often don’t value freebies.
THE CREATIVE SOLUTION:
We took Netflix’s iconic show, Money Heist and recreated it in Qatar. The target of our heist, to steal Netflix, which instantly elevated our offer to something of value.
And the final twist, our lead characters revealed themselves to be two of Qatar’s most loved, up and coming social media influencers.
THE RESULTS:
In a country with an effective target population of around 500,000, the campaign achieved millions of views on social media and more importantly, 37,000 people took up the offer.
