Valentine’s Day is a day to freely express love and show affection. However, Indian society isn’t so understanding. Couples have their privacy infringed, are stared at, judged, and even harassed by authorities. And their affection is crudely referred to as ‘entertainment’.

So, this Valentine’s Day, BookMyShow, India’s leading entertainment platform wanted to give couples some room to love and send out a message to everyone judging them.

We developed an idea called ‘Show Stoppers’:  where we designed umbrellas, an iconic Bollywood romance symbol, with messages that read ‘Looking for entertainment? Download BookMyShow’ and ‘Entertainment chahiye? Download BookMyShow.’

These Show Stoppers were handed out to couples at famous romantic spots in Mumbai. Marine Drive, Bandra Reclamation, Shivaji Park, and Juhu Beach witnessed multiple umbrellas twirling. And a simple idea, shielded couples from stares, gave them their due privacy and showed onlookers the mirror.
