​We hi-jacked attention in the run-up to the UK election with a bus ad that poked fun at dishonest political claims. If anyone has the right to plaster Whoppers on the side of a bus, it’s Burger King.

It broke the internet. Pictures of the bus were shared hundreds of thousands of times on social media and the ad was covered by media organisations including The Mirror, The Evening Standard, The Metro, The Sun, The Daily Express, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The i Paper, Yahoo! News, The Scotsman, Manchester Evening News, Birmingham Live, Wales Online and many more. On the day of launch, Burger King was the number one trending topic in the UK on Twitter but spread further still and was mentioned in over 75 different countries. Celebrities got involved. Grassroot political groups on Facebook shared it as a propaganda. It was chopped up and passed round Whatsapp. Even the BBC covered it. ​
