Given Chicken Licken’s strong history of using television ads as vehicles for epic storytelling, this production required detailed sound design to create a cinematic feast that was true to the brand’s legacy and brought each scene to life, but also had a touch of realism that would resonate with local South African audiences.
As the story was told in five uniquely-themed scenarios, each scene needed to be treated as a separate genre with specific sound design cues. We approached this task with one primary goal in mind: to treat each scene as if it were part of its own feature film.
With these objectives in mind, the individual stories were meticulously crafted and layered in conjunction with the music to deliver a cohesive and entertaining piece of work.
The final product showcases the sound designer's attention to detail and crafting of each scene's elements, including the original voice performance of the cyborg in the second scene.
