Today, German people—especially German youth—have a newfound
awareness for environmental issues. At “Fridays for Future,” students gather
every week and protest for more changes to save the environment. While there
is a lot of information out there concerning pollution via the automotive
industry and old energy, the topic of “single-use plastics” is still not as
prominent. Germany is also one of the countries with the cleanest tap water
in the world. Nevertheless the majority of German people prefers bottled
water over tap water. So with 79% of the plastic waste ever produced now
stitting in landfills, it is time to raise awareness. Burk Uzzle, the photographer of the Woodstock image, as well as Nick and Bobbi Ercoline, the couple shown in the picture, gave us free permission to use the image when they heard about the idea and intention of use. |
