OPPO is one of the top five smartphone companies in the world, hugely successful in India and Asia.
As a global partner of the International Cricket Council, they created a campaign for this year’s Cricket World Cup with Endeavor Global Marketing.
A key aim of the campaign was to raise brand awareness with European millennials, and Evoke Films was commissioned to create and produce the campaign’s global commercial which launched the slogan #BeAShotMaker.
Shot in London and South Africa, three narratives define what it is to be a shotmaker – someone who doesn’t wait for life to happen, but makes life happen. England cricketer Jos Buttler is the hero character, with parallel stories of two girls from Australia and a boy from India. OPPO’s creative technology empowers them to capture the moment they have boldly created - seeing beyond life’s limitations to #BeAShotMaker.
A duplicate TVC was created with Pakistani International cricket player Shoaib Malik in the hero role for the Pakistan market. Both versions of the TVC also had 1', 30'' and 15'' deliverables produced for different distribution platforms, as well as a Behind the Scenes Film.
The commercial was unveiled at the global marketing event to launch OPPO's official ICC Cricket World Cup sponsorship in Tobacco Dock, London on May 20th. It was then shared across the social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) of the brand and the talent Joss Buttler and Shoaib Malik. The TVC was transmitted in the UK, Australia and Pakistan and was shown at events and on billboards throughout the duration of the Cricket World Cup at cricket grounds including Lords and the Oval.
To date the commercial has had over 12m views worldwide.
