In the build up to the Rugby World Cup, we wanted to show how rugby could be a unifying force in Ireland, right across the island. This regardless of people’s backgrounds or indeed any borders in the country.
So we created a symbol of this, one that covered the 32 counties in the north and south of the country.
This unity is symbolised as a rugby ball.
Using the fingerprints of 32 people from all 32 counties, we created a unique grip made up of all fingerprints.
The ball was then given to the Irish team before their trip to the Japan Rugby World Cup. So that even though most people wouldn't be able to make the trip to Japan they would be with the team on their journey.
