From their mesquite-grilled fajitas and fresh margaritas, to their rustic-modern decor and signature dessert — a smashable chocolate piñata filled with churros and fresh fruit,
Uncle Julio’s delivers a one-of-a-kind experience in their restaurants. But, their website didn’t. Its look and feel hadn’t evolved with their brand, plus repetitive content and friction in the user experience made it hard for users to navigate.
Uncle Julio’s affluent consumers appreciate elevated experiences, and their website just wasn’t delivering. So as their agency of record, we partnered with Uncle Julio’s to create a best-in-class digital presence that informs their guests, increases foot traffic, and enriches their brand’s story.
But, before we pushed a single pixel, we conducted preliminary research to better understand our audience and how they were using both Uncle Julio’s website and the sites of their competitors.
Building on these rich insights, we streamlined content and navigation to create a site that’s optimized for the actual needs and behaviors of the end-user. And, using hand-drawn textural design elements, the site now looks and feels handcrafted to match the distinct aesthetic of Uncle Julio’s dining rooms.
Since we discovered that 75% of Uncle Julio’s traffic comes from smartphones and tablets, every asset on their new site is mobile-first to ensure performance without sacrificing experience. To instantly give site visitors a sense of the dynamic atmosphere and table-side experiences that await in Uncle Julio’s, we used videos site-wide that showcase unique dining moments. And, from intuitive natural language reservation forms to individual restaurant pages that remember your location, Uncle Julio’s new site is full of elements custom-built for the unique needs of their visitors.
Uncle’s Julio’s digital experience now stands up to their incredible dining experiences. Their new site is contributing to in-store traffic and sales, boasts a 39% increase in site speed, 42% increase in menu views, a 32% increase in group dining bookings, and 48% increase in gift card sales. In a matter of weeks, the new site paid for itself.
