The United States is being hit with increasingly catastrophic climate events. Climate change intensifies natural disasters, and in 2030 we’ll reach an irreversible point. A million torched acres in California’s largest wildfire to date, fatal record-breaking floods in New York, and devastating 160mph hurricane winds in Florida. Despite the facts, too many people are tuning out of the climate crisis and sleeping soundly without a concern. It’s time for a wake-up call.
We created a radio campaign using the sounds of nature heard in sleep and meditation sessions like wind, campfire, and rain, but with a twist. A meditation exercise guides us over these relaxing sounds that gradually intensify into natural disasters. A relaxing breeze turns into a devastating hurricane, a calming crackle turns into a massive wildfire, and a light rain turns into a fatal flood. The takeaway? Climate change will remain a crisis unless we wake up and act now.
Through the power of radio sound, we impacted our audience to wake them up. We used the sounds of nature heard in sleep and meditation sessions like wind, campfire, and rain, but with a twist. A meditation exercise guides us over these relaxing sounds that gradually intensify into natural disasters.
