What if you could pick up the phone and wish Salvador Dalí a happy birthday?
Introducing ‘Dial Dalí’ — a new AI experience that lets anyone in the U.S. dial the reimagined legendary artist directly for a live, surreal conversation.
Just dial 772-ASK-DALÍ (772-275-3254), Others will be able to call him between May 6–12 — Dalí’s birthday week — to spark a conversation you’ll never forget.
Ask about art. Time. Dreams. Lobsters. His favourite foods. Or simply say happy birthday. AI-Dalí was trained on all his writings and speech. He’ll talk to you in the way only Dalí can.
Created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GS&P) in partnership with The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, ‘Dial Dalí’ is the latest surreal activation from a collaboration that’s been pushing creative boundaries for years. It follows the viral success of ‘Ask Dalí’, and is built on the same technology, where museum-goers ask the artist a question through his iconic Lobster Phone.
Now, ‘Dial Dalí’ lets anyone across the country tap into the mind of a master, for a two way, engaging conversation. 772-ASK-DALI is developed for The Dalí Museum and trained on Salvador Dalí's persona integrated with ElevenLabs for real-time voice synthesis. The AI interacts with the public via a phone number managed by Twilio, allowing users a dynamic interaction.
“Dalí’s lobster phone shows that the telephone has always been a surrealist object. Now, we’ve made it literal. With Dial Dalí, anyone can connect to a voice from the past that still has something to say about the future,” said Jeff Goodby, co-founder, GS&P.
“Dalí imagined new realities — and we’re proud to honor his birthday by inviting the world to speak directly with that imagination. This experience captures his spirit, his humour, and his timeless curiosity,” said Hank Hine, executive director, The Dalí Museum.
‘Dial Dalí’ builds on a legendary creative partnership between GS&P and The Dalí Museum, from 2016’s VR Dreams of Dalí VR experience, 2019’s Dalí Lives to 2023’s Dream Tapestry (using OpenAI’s DALL-E), and 2024’s Ask Dalí. Each project explores the human imagination and the permission that Dalí gives every one of us to dream.
So go ahead — call 772-ASK-DALÍ. The mustache is on the line.
