WWF - Tackling Animal Trafficking With WWF

The Challenge 

Galvanise the UK against animal trafficking and drive petition signatures to ensure it was on the agenda of global leaders ahead of an international summit.

The Manifest Approach 

We bought this distant issue to the UK streets with a life-size hologram stopping traffic, as a shocking reminder that without action this could be the only way to see this endangered animal.

Driving Action Through Striking Imagery 

WWF wanted to get the issue of animal trafficking on the national agenda. Leveraging the Global Summit on Illegal Wildlife Trade which was upcoming in London, we needed to drive large-scale engagement, driving over 100k signatures for its petition to ensure it would be discussed by the UK Government whilst the summit was occurring. 

We created a life-size hologram elephant to stop traffic in London - a reminder that without action, this would be the only way to see this endangered animal.

To give it national reach, we created ‘zebra-crossings’ all over the country, using the animal prints of the world’s most trafficked animals. 

Our videos and imagery drove huge interest in media and online, driving 102k signatures in just three days - alongside thousands of messages of support and a reach measured in the millions. 

The campaign led to a formal discussion by Parliament, with the conversation even referencing our groundbreaking campaign.
