Tom Ford's Winter 2024 campaign is a cinematic narrative set in Shanghai, commonly referred to as Modu - the 'Capital of Magic' by its inhabitants. The campaign unravels through a series of three interwoven stories, each capturing the city's contrasts of darkness and light, tradition and modernity.
Produced by international production company HAMLET and directed by Tom Ford’s senior director brand image Zhang Qingyun, the two minute film is a cinematic glimpse into the heart of the city and sets the scene for the narrative of three distinct characters portrayed by top models Fei Fei Sun, Rianne Van Rompaey and Meng Yu Qi.
Fei Fei Sun gazes over the night time cityscape from a lofty vantage point, embodying the city's energy and allure. Rianne Van Rompaey navigates the streets at ground level, her intensity transforming her bright, almost surreal surroundings. Meng Yu Qi experiences Shanghai through a psychedelic lens, portraying a rock star's elegant decadence. As the story develops, the three protagonists briefly cross paths in transitory moments filled with promises of seduction. The city's fusion of hyper-modernity and tradition provides the perfect environment for this compelling cinematic tale, weaving together different perspectives into a single, cohesive vision.
Yimeng Zhang, managing director and executive producer of Hamlet China comments, "We're thrilled to have been part of the Tom Ford Winter 2024 campaign. Collaborating with the talented Tom Ford team was an absolute pleasure, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the stunning result of this atmospheric film."
The film is being aired on the Tom Ford website and social channels.
