Social Media Agency Spin has announced the appointment of creative director Jake Thompson. With a decade of social experience in the industry, Jake will be leading the creative team’s accounts.
Jake, formerly creative director at SocialChain, helped build some of the most talked-about campaigns in the industry whilst growing their creative offering from zero to a nearly 40-strong team of multidisciplinary creators. He led the creative team across major brands such as SharkNinja, KFC, The British Army, Holland and Barrett, LinkedIn, Prime Video, H&M, and Arla, winning numerous awards (including a 30 Under 30) and delivering work that commanded attention.
Alex Bodini, CEO of Spin commented, "We're thrilled to welcome Jake to the Spin Group. Being at the forefront of culture and creative in Social is what we're all about at Spin and we couldn't imagine anyone better suited to this pivotal role than Jake".
Jake Thompson commented, “There are too many billboards on social. Too many creators forced to do anything but be creative. Too much always-on that’s always boring. Social has become about being everywhere, instead of meaning something where it matters. The industry made this mess - Spin is here to fix it. As their new creative director, I’m bringing almost a decade at the forefront of social rule-breaking to help their clients cut through the noise the right way. Together, we’ll be papering over those in-feed billboards with something worth your attention. Watch this space (literally)”.
Spin, an independent, 360 social agency with clients across almost every continent, has more than 75 full-time employees primarily based in London and continues to experience impressive growth year on year.
The team of creatives, strategists and social marketers look after global brands including LVMH, Google, Fujifilm, Del Monte, UMG, Bupa, Britvic, AliExpress, Napolina & Ann Summers.
