Science Now, a strategic design studio focused on science, culture, and innovation, which had a leading creative role in shaping Poland's presence at Expo 2020 Dubai and Juice, a visual effects and animation studio known for its work with global brands like Netflix, Porsche, and Sony, have joined forces to contribute to Poland’s presence at the prestigious Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai in Japan.
As part of a broader national effort to showcase Poland’s multidimensional heritage and future-oriented endeavours, the consortium was commissioned to deliver immersive multimedia and a storytelling content package, both as part of content for the Poland Pavilion and for a broader communication campaign.
World Expos are the largest and most prestigious cultural and economic events on the global stage, held every five years and spanning six months. Poland’s participation in the 2025 edition, under the theme "Poland. Heritage that Drives the Future," is managed by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
“Working on content for Expo 2025 is both a creative challenge and a great honour. It’s a unique opportunity to translate Poland’s multidimensional heritage into a universal language of storytelling, design, and technology,” said Jan Pomierny, co-founder and CEO at Science Now.
“Thanks to our Tokyo branch, we were able to bridge local insight with international creative standards, ensuring the experience resonates with both Japanese and global audiences,” added Maciek Gołębiowski, head of production at Juice.
As a creative consortium, Science Now and Juice are responsible for art direction, storytelling, script development, collaboration with artists and illustrators, as well as the comprehensive production of multimedia content, including its implementation in the Pavilion's exhibition space:
- A series of documentary-style short films highlighting Poland's presence at the Expo
- Bespoke animations for a multisensory experience co-created with renowned Polish illustrators Monika Hanulak, Patrycja Podkościelny, and Kasia Walentynowicz
- Animated stories inspired by the Polish School of Animation, showcasing various regions of Poland through the lens of Fryderyk Chopin
- Interactive presentations integrated into the Pavilion’s exhibition that highlight key sectors of the Polish economy and their relevance to the Japanese market
The architectural concept of the Poland Pavilion was developed by Alicja Kubicka and Borja Martínez from Interplay Architects. Its permanent exhibition is curated by Monika Brauntsch (KAFTI), Ewa Kierklo and Stanisław Kempa (GDYBY), and Wiesław Bartkowski. Other artists invited to design experiences in the Pavilion include, among others: Variable Studio, IP Group, Urszula Zajączkowska and Szymon P. Pepliński.
Through dynamic visual storytelling and immersive media, Juice and Science Now are helping to translate Poland’s rich heritage, innovative spirit and creativity into a compelling experience for millions of global visitors.
