Production company DIVISION and studio NOIR have partnered up for the first time to produce for director Walid Labri, collaborating to create a soon-to-be viral sensation for one of London’s hottest fashion brands, Corteiz.
London-based filmmaker Walid Labri, whose work has been making serious waves in the industry, takes the lead in the new ad entitled ‘DA SKYDIVE’ – a play on the brand’s latest collection – a skydive-inspired leather jacket which drops this month and, in line with all of Corteiz’s previous collections, is undoubtedly set to sell out in minutes.
Making a cameo for the brand is renowned London-based artist and designer, Slawn, who recently became the youngest artist to design a BRIT Award (2023) and whose work has been featured by Sotheby’s.
In Walid’s bold and arresting 60” film, the audience follows Slawn as he hurtles through the sky at an alarming pace, screaming and arms flailing as he plummets down to earth to a seemingly shocking demise. But, all is not what it seems, with the ending unveiling a more humorous twist.
To prepare for this shockingly realistic sequence, Slawn carried out wire and callisthenics training in London, which involved practising the skyfall in a harness with stunt and wire teams, in readiness for the real thing. Talent and crew then flew to Bulgaria, where the film was shot at with NOIR’s trusted partners, B2Y, whose ongoing relationship ensures creative ideas can flourish and be truly realised.
The film also showcases the impressive VFX and post production prowess of London-based studio, No.8, whose expertise helped bring the bold vision and daring stunt to life.
The film follows a series of high profile projects by Walid Labri in recent years, whose previous work has included notable campaigns for brands such as Louis Vuitton.
