Abused women generally endure 35 acts of violence before asking for help. Domestic violence rarely draws the attention of the unaffected, so the aim was to get striking examples of it out into the public space and confront average people with the problem's existence. To inspire victims to seek help and to raise awareness of this calamity, phone booths were placed in Budapest's busiest locations. When passers-by answered a ringing phone, they heard a recording depicting a typical call to the NaNE helpline from a victim of domestic violence. The call ended with a clear message -- there is a way to get help.
