This test was produced to show the effects that layering live-action and CGI can achieve. For nearly a decade we have been seamlessly integrating photography and CGI to deliver stunning results for advertising. In this project we show how we can take this to the next level by combining live action and CG animation.
First we shot the backplate using a Canon 5D and a Steadycam rig. At the same time we captured a HDR of the location to give us lighting and reflection information for the CG vehicle. We then set about layering the CG content with multiple layers of live action video to produce a result that really turns people’s heads.
To attract people’s attention in advertising you have to use all the tricks in the book, we feel this innovative technique adds a few more chapters to ours and therefore our clients.
