Y&R New Zealand has announced the
appointment of Kim Pick (centre) and Tom Paine (left) as joint creative
leaders, following Josh Moore's departure as CCO earlier this year.
With
over 20 years of global advertising experience on some of the world's
biggest brands, Pick has worked at leading agencies in Australia,
Singapore, London, New York and New Zealand. Pick joined Y&R from Colenso BBDO earlier this year and now works alongside Tom Paine, leading the creative for both the Auckland and Wellington offices.
Says
Kim: "Together, Josh, Tom and the team at Y&R have created a
string of stand out, stellar campaigns, as well as a can-do culture that
delivers for our clients.
"So, I'm pleased to have the opportunity to step in and work
alongside Tom on some really exciting projects, to see where we can take
things next for our clients' business, and to make a difference on some
important issues."
Paine has been with Y&R for almost 7
years (with the last 18 months as ECD), and has amassed a client roster
that includes recent partners Countdown and Burger King. In 2016, Paine
was ranked the world's #1 Creative Director (Big Won Report), and was
instrumental in leading Y&R NZ to Agency of the Year titles at
D&AD, AWARD, and Campaign Brief, and the 2017 North American Grand
Effie.
Says Tom: "The agency today is barely recognisable
from when Josh and I started, and I'm extremely proud of what we've
built: a unique culture and an enviable client list. Kim is undeniably a
creative force and adept at making clients and consumers cry happy
tears. I'd be hard-pressed to find a more suitable partner to help
script the next chapter."
Says Jono Key (above right), managing
director, Y&R New Zealand: "Tom and I have worked together for the
last six years, and we've had a lot of fun growing the business. In a
very short time, Kim has a made a big impact within the agency as well
as with clients. Kim and Tom have a complementary set of skills that
will drive our creative department forward."
