What Kind of World Cup Fan are You? Find Out In New Coca-Cola Spot
With the World Cup under way Great Guns represented director Mikko also delivers his WC spot for Coca-Cola, through Sauna@Boomtown Films for Ogilvy Africa. Entitled "What Kind of Fan Are You", it portrays a range of archetypal fans in states of jubilation, rage, worry and hysteria.
Essentially the client recognises that there would be no ‘Beautiful Game’ without the fans. In the same way that there are incredibly colourful characters on the field, there are equally mesmerising characters off the field – ‘the fans’.
And there is no one type of fan - there are literally thousands of different fan archetypes but a mere handful of the most iconic were chosen to bring to life their unique love of the game.
This is a campaign that will pay just as much tribute to those fans as to the game and the players themselves.
"When I saw the script I got really excited. The agency had written all of these wonderfully funny characters and I couldn’t wait to see them on film. It was one of those rare scripts that was just ready to shoot. Besides that, it’s not every year that you get to do a World cup advert for Coca-Cola”, Mikko comments
