Entitled Arthropod Brain, running at the Toy Art Gallery, LA from 9 - 23 March 2013

tokyoplastic has a new exhibition entitled Arthropod Brain which will run at the Toy Art Gallery in Los Angeles from 9th - 23rd March 2013.  The exhibition is a joint venture with Barcelona based designer Emilio Garcia who is widely known in contemporary culture circles for his Jumping Brain characters and figures.   tokyoplastic and Garcia who share a fascination for plastic and toys collaborated previously in 2009, which is when the idea for an exhibition was born.

As the title suggests, the inspiration for the work in this exhibition centres on insects, bugs, macro photography and electron microscope imagery fused with Garcia's trademark brain designs.  The artworks are framed 3D printed insects, larger 3D creatures on plinths and large 2D prints, all of which will be for sale.
You can see a preview of some of the sculptures as works in progress on tokyoplastic's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/tokyoplastic/280124097432
