Considered a premiere colourists in the industry, Curreri joins companies roster of talent

Award-winning post production company Therapy Studios rounds out its full service offerings with the addition of acclaimed senior colorist, Robert Curreri. Considered one of the premiere colorists in the industry, Curreri joins an impressive roster of talent that collectively offers editorial, finishing, sound design, mix and now color grading.

Curreri has established strong relationships with top directors and DPs like Sam Bayer, Marc Webb and Christopher Blauvelt, who come to him for his refined, artful approach to commercials, music videos and features alike.  He notes, “For me it's all about helping to tell the story through the use of color.  The important thing is to get the tone right. It can make the difference between giving the viewer the chills or the piece falling flat.”  Curreri is off to a strong start at Therapy, with projects for Busch Gardens, Showtime and Sonic Highways, a new HBO original series directed by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.

Born and raised in New York, Robert Curreri began his career in Manhattan as a music video colorist. After working as a DP and then music video director, Curreri returned to color grading upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2003 to join The Syndicate.  In 2008, Curreri made a move over to RiOT, and then to Company 3 Santa Monica, before eventually going independent.  During this time Curreri has become one of the most highly regarded short form colorists in the field, grading hundreds of spots for some of world’s biggest brands including Honda, Ford, Volkswagen, DirecTV, Budweiser and Target.  Music videos have remained a large part of his repertoire as well, coloring for artists like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Lil Wayne and Arcade Fire.

On joining Therapy’s talented group of artists, Curreri says, “What excites me about Therapy is not just their amazing collection of talent, but their ‘creative team’ solution for today's compressed deadlines and ever changing decision-making process.  They have also successfully branched out into film and television development and production, which interests me very much.”

Executive Producer/Partner Joe DiSanto echoes his enthusiasm, saying, "We have been working very hard to bring in top talent for each discipline of post that we offer.  Color was really the last piece of the puzzle for us, and we couldn't be more thrilled about Robert coming on to fill that role.  With him joining the roster, I truly believe that Therapy has assembled one of the best creative post teams in the business."
