Directed by Dan Emmerson and produced by Somesuch, the new three-part series travels the globe to explain how fans and players fell in love with a port city in the northwest of England

Liverpool FC's official travel partner, Expedia, presents a new three-part content series 'Finding Liverpool', which takes a close-up and personal look at the club's global family and its impact across the world.

In episode one, directed by Dan Emmerson and produced by Somesuch we see the scale of LFC's global fandom, with a focus on Japan.

Dan captures supporter Moby as he begins his journey from Tokyo to Liverpool as players Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wataru Endo, Fuka Nagano and Missy Bo Kearns remind us of the impact that LFC fans have on the teams from across the world.

Speaking in the series about the global reach of LFC, Van Dijk said, "It's a special club and if you are part of it, you feel it all around the world."

Trent added, "It transcends the city. It's bigger than the city and even the country. It's worldwide."

The episode also looks at supporters who live in the city and have met people from all over the world who travel far and wide to support the club. "No matter where you're from, we're all one," said a local fan.

Dan Emmerson is a British director. Mixing formats, pioneering the use of archive footage, and mining inspiration from recent history, his work is a sophisticated, fluttering glance at youth subculture and British culture.

Dan began his career as a freelance producer and photographer, where he developed an eye for detail and the ability to draw out relatable, authentic performances.

He came to prominence with 'For The Coming Age' for Collusion, a mammoth campaign which followed 100 teenagers celebrating their 18th birthday. As well as ‘Where Were You’ for The Face, an experimental portrait of Britain featuring shot and archive footage dating from the 1980s to the present day.

He has also directed commercials for Loewe, Burberry, Children in Need, H&M and Oakley. As well as music videos for Dizzee Rascal, Burna Boy x Lily Allen and Clipz x Ms. Dynamite.
