The Essential List

The Essential List: Michelle Machado

The Method Studios EP supposedly knocks up a mean lasagne - but don’t dare ask for her famed family recipe

The Essential List: Michelle Machado

As executive producer of Method Studios’ advertising business, Michelle Machado recently managed a team of 100 VFX artists for Justin Timberlake’s ‘Filthy’ music video. The team concerted and created a fully CG dancing robot based on motion capture from Justin himself - and while we’re incredibly impressed by that, we’re arguably more interested in learning the secrets of her Christmas Eve lasagne recipe. Lo and behold, it’s apparently a much lauded family recipe for her eyes only.

As well as Italian food aficionado, Michelle is a proud Los Angeleno, with an eye for a top-notch burrito and always rootin’ for her local sports teams. Get to know her better below!

o Place of birth: Glendale, California
o Hometown: La Canada, California
o Staycation: Palm Springs when it’s over 85 degrees. I love feeling like I’m in an oven when I walk outside… but there must be a pool too!

o Pet: Lexi, our crazy two-year-old girl. Here’s her baby picture:
o Place of work: Method Studios

o Mode of transport: Ford Flex - it fits the whole fam comfortably
o Bonus Travel Essential: A blanket - I’m always freezing

o Music Video: Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’
o Video Game: Super Mario Bros - I’ll collect coins all day!
o Board Game: Game of Life and Ticket to Ride - I’m the reigning world champ (of my family) on both
o Book: Stephen King and biographies, but I’m also re-reading all of the Judy Blume books with my fourth grader. I still love them!
o Graphic Novel: Would Calvin & Hobbes count?
o Podcast: I’d rather listen to music
o Newspaper (off or online): LA Times
o Magazine: People
o Bonus Culture Essential: Live sports! USC, Dodgers, Lakers, Kings, Rams - we are an LA household!
