British Arrows today announces the shortlists for The British Arrows 2018. The winners will be awarded and celebrated on Wednesday 16th May at Battersea Evolution in London.
The 45-strong jury was split into Arrows and CRAFT, but for the first time, the Craft jury was split further into specialist areas, with agency jurors judging the agency categories, production judging production, post judging post and audio judging audio, to give the purest results.
This unique and carefully crafted British awards show honours moving image advertising across 29 Arrows categories and 25 Craft categories.
Nils Leonard, Co-Founder of Uncommon Creative Studios who served as Chair of the Arrows jury commented “I’m humbled to have pulled together a diverse jury from every area of moving image creativity to award the most watched, most beautiful, most original and most uncomfortable moving images.” He continued to say that his jury looked for “Work we wish we’d made… Work that liberates us from the landfill of skipped mpegs…Work that could start a riot.”
Jani Guest, Managing Director of Independent Films who served as Chairwoman of the Craft jury said “This year’s jury was a brilliant group of creative directors, producers, editors, visual effects masters and composers who came together to embrace the craft in the work and exchange their insights on the execution. Despite a very challenging year for so many in the business, the superior quality of work for which the British industry has always been celebrated remains intact. The bar set by previous generations of directors, producers, cinematographers, production designers, and all those who contribute to the creative team, has been raised even higher.”
