The Emmy’s held their 36th College Television Awards 2015 last week in LA and what an awe-inspriring display of work!. The shortlist was an outstanding mix of character animation, VFX, film and motion graphics submitted by graduating college students as part of their final assessment and Taylor James NY’s latest recruit, Nick Tustin, was one of them – and he won! Taylor James, integrated production studio, has been spearheading the creative digital production industry for 16 years, delivering creative storytelling, 3D and 2D animation, film & photography, post-production for visual content across all media channels.
Sourcing the best talent while they’re young is valued very highly at Taylor James, well known for its partnerships with universities and colleges specialising in the industry – from digital media, photography, VFX and film – and developing them in house. Nick joined TJ after a successful 3 month internship and they are thrilled to hear his senior thesis film “Birthday”, an animated short film about an alien bug who is born into a enchanting jungle, WON in the Animation category.
Commenting on his idea, Nick said: “I have a fascination with insects and macro wildlife footage, so I knew I wanted to do something in that realm. Once I came up with the idea of a naïve little bug struggling to survive in a brand new environment, it was fun to come up with scenarios where he’d be deceived”
