INFLUENCER: Jungle's Stuart Allen Hynd looks back at a Cannes filled with inspiration and the odd glass of rosé

My second year at Cannes and no longer a virgin. If you’ve never been, you need to start schmoozing your boss right away.

Cannes 2018 was another unforgettable year for me; the perfect blend of sun, sea and creativity.

After another year of hard work and virtual meet-ups online it was great to unwind and get connected in person again with beautiful people on La Croisette.

First stop as always - The LBB and Friends Beach; a place where like minded people come together to bathe in all the delights Cannes has to offer, a friendly place I like to call Soho-on-Sea.

Aperol spritz in hand, it was time to devour delicious food, swim and hang out and connect with some of the most talented and creative people in the world. The vibe is always relaxed, the rosé never stops flowing and legends like Coldcut rock up to surprise you with the perfect sundowner set.

When the sun does set it’s time for the big parties to fire up with a bang. I was fortunate enough to get to loads of parties this year and my faves were Big Buoy, Shots, Sizzer and of course Jungle & Native’s super cool roof party. Live music and amazing DJs got everyone’s guard down as we all grooved into the very small hours.

Partying aside there are so many meet-ups, talks and events during the week, so after brushing off my hangover, I went to see the straight 8 showcase. I was blown away by the ideas, craft and imagination from the film makers there from all over the world. It’s at events like these that you get the opportunity to meet those who made the films, find out more about the projects and make new connections.

At the business end of Cannes Lions is the Palais, the theatre where hopes and dreams come true as a reward for exceptional creativity and the pushing of boundaries over the previous year. The red carpet is always ablaze with pride as the year’s industry winners give interviews and have photographs with the most coveted prize of all. Ah, one day.

See you next year I hope!
