Strongbow Cider Says ‘Cheers’ to the Humble House Party

Otherway campaign shines a light on some of life’s best everyday moments

The nation’s favourite cider, Strongbow, has today unveiled a new advert as part of its ‘Take a Bow’ campaign - that says ‘cheers’ to everyday greatness. As the first TV ad of the new campaign, the clip says ‘cheers’ to a great British tradition - the humble house party, and the fancy dress that guests pour their hearts into creating. 

Hitting screens from 5th June 2023 - launching during the first episode of the brand-new Love Island series - the ad is the first TV presence for Strongbow’s £20m campaign, that has seen the brand’s biggest ever redesign, bidding goodbye to the famous black and gold for the first time since 1960.

The 20” advert, soundtracked by Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It, features Strongbow’s bold new branding throughout, and opens with a shot of an iconic four-pack of Strongbow Dark Fruit being brought to a house party, later revealed to be carried by a reveller wearing a novelty avocado costume. After entering the party, the eager partygoer is joined by other wacky fancy dress legends, including three sardines sipping a Strongbow Original and a unique take on a ‘Gingerbread Man’. 

Created by creative agency Otherway, the advert will also feature during Gogglebox, brand-new auction show The Greatest Auction, and the Europa League final, as well as many other slots across TV and VOD. Future films as part of the series will champion other everyday moments beyond house parties - such as your mate who waits in line to get the pints in at a festival.
