Directors Traktor work their miniature mischief as online retailer invests in its biggest Christmas campaign yet

Very.co.uk, the digital department store, has invested £6.5 million in its biggest ever festive advertising campaign, created by St Luke’s, inviting people to ‘Step into Christmas in style’ this year.
After a record Christmas last year, the brand prepares to deliver another great festive season for its millions of customers. Latest figures reveal that Very.co.uk grew 23.1% to deliver sales of £700m over its last financial year, helping to drive extraordinary growth for parent company Shop Direct, which is now the UK’s fourth largest online retailer (with profits up over 512%).
Shop Direct’s strategy is ‘to make good things easily available to more people’ and Very.co.uk enables customers to ‘Do it in style’.
The ‘Step into Christmas’ campaign, created by St Luke’s, is due to launch on November 6th and will run across TV, print, OOH, digital, direct and social channels. It shows how Christmas isn’t just a special time of the year, it’s a different world. A world where we all have permission to let excitement take over and lose ourselves in awe and wonder. No matter how many Christmases we’ve already had, we always want the next one to feel bigger, more magical and more wonderful.
The TVC, shot by Traktor, with special effects by MPC, plays with scale to depict Fearne Cotton and friends as 12cm high adventurers exploring a magical Christmas living room. They interact with life size gifts and products, which to them seem huge and exciting. Fearne and her friends also wear the latest partywear trends from Very.co.uk, showing that the brand gives you access to everything you might need for the festive season: fashion, gifts, technology and homeware.
With hundreds of brands, flexible payment options and free next day delivery, Very.co.uk invites people to step into this Christmas with a spirited attitude and style to have the magical Christmas they want for themselves and their loved ones without the hassle.
St Luke’s Executive Creative Director, Alan Young said: “We wanted to capture the excitement of big department store shopping and Traktor have delivered this in spades.”
Jon Owen, Retail Brands and Trading Director at Shop Direct, home to Very.co.uk, said: “We are excited to be ending this outstanding year at Very.co.uk with our biggest ever fully integrated campaign that not only brings to life the magic and awe of Christmas but also showcases our full department store offering.”
