The company’s Latin America & U.S. Latin President Jorge Mejia and his team received the prestigious honor at the annual BMI Latin Awards in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night when Sony/ATV songwriters Luis Fonsi and Residente were also recognized with awards. In the year following the global success of his song “Despacito”, Fonsi was given the night’s highest honour when he received the BMI Presidential Award, while Residente won the BMI Champions Award in recognition of his career and humanitarian work.
In total, Sony/ATV and its songwriters won 17 awards at the event, including performance awards for the following songs:
