Selena Gomez has just dropped her latest lovestruck promo, ‘Love On, directed by Doomsday’s Gregory Ohrel.

The music video sees Selena dance her way from sunrise to sunset in a grand, historic mansion brimming with lovers. Embodying her inner Brigitte Bardot, she enlists the help of French director Gregory to celebrate all things famously françaises, from croissants and fries to manicures, kisses, and even a bulldog.

Gregory lends his signature style to the visuals, captivating viewers with bright bold colours, stunning scenery, and a large dose of energy. An impressive feat of production, he shot the entire film - with all its choreography, set and wardrobe changes, and cultural allusions - in just a single day.

Film and art buffs will have plenty to unpack in ‘Love On’. Draped across a green sofa in a tasselled black dress, Selena draws Ramon Casas’ 1899 masterpiece ‘Decadent Young Woman, After The Dance’ into the modern day, while a couple kissing on a ladder harks back to a scene from French new wave director Eric Rohmer - the specific movie referenced is left up to audiences to work out. Pay close attention to also find the fleeting allusion to multidisciplinary artist Helena Almeida.

Gregory Ohrel comments, “As soon as I heard the first words of the song in French, I knew it would be a really cool playground for me as a French person. So I tried to think about all the French things the world knows and play with them. The next challenge was to mix it all in a beautiful way to give Selena some epic scenes! I particularly love the one where Selena’s eating French fries with the ballet dancers. She is such an amazing talent and she totally captured the mood: playful, chill, but with attitude. I had so much amazing footage of her in that scene!”
